Character: Eduard Hossfeld
Roster?: No
Concept: His and a small group of other families began making their way out of what was eastern Germany several generations back, traveling west as "die Aasgeiern" ("the Vultures") who would go into the abandoned cities, scavenge items and materials, (hopefully) leave before they attracted attention, and then trade what they scavenged for what they needed as they traveled. While the make-up of the group changed as people were born, died, joined, and left, the purpose always remained the same and was passed down from parent to child without question: Eduard had been a vulture himself since he was old enough to use bolt cutters. But that's all in the past, and now that he's several years past his life expectancy, he's "called it quits" with sneaking around cities in the dark and has taken up permanent residence in Dornie (on account of it being the closest civilization at the time). Probably hasn't given up leading a dangerous life, though, and I imagine he'd fall in with Duncan's militia on account of knowing about fighting, fieldcraft, survival and small-group tactics.
Concerns: The only real concern I have is if the idea is "too much." I don't think it's especially ambitious, but that's me, so I'm absolutely open to feedback (especially if the idea sort of shoehorns him into a semi-established position like I'm afraid it might).
Miscellany: I'm thinking he might have at least some familiarity with relics from "the old days." Don't expect him to fix a broken iPod in the event you find it; he's more likely to figure out how much its guts are worth than how it works.
